The Applied AI Challenge invites ALL Iowa State students—undergraduate and graduate—to create meaningful change through AI. Whether you're a coder or have never written a line of code, your unique perspective is exactly what we need. Join us on your own or bring your friends, either way, we will help you find an innovative project idea and form a team during our event.

Choose Your Track:

• Gen Media Creation — Create narrative videos for serious gaming and training scenarios
• AI Agent Design — Build a Q&A bot that makes complex information accessible and human-centered
• AI-Assisted Making — Design prototypes for furniture, DIY kits, or toy projects
• AI-Assisted Coding — Develop a website, app, or service or other code-based solution that solves real problems for real people

Full Schedule:

• Week 1 — Kickoff & Team Formation: Friday, April 3 | 5:00–8:00 PM in SICTR Stepatorium (first floor lobby)
• Week 2 — Mentoring & User Research: April 6–10
• Week 3 — Presentations & Awards: Friday, April 17 | 5:00–8:00 PM in SICTR 0114 Auditorium 

This 3-week sprint format gives you time to learn, iterate, and create something meaningful—with mentorship, user research workshops, and open studio support along the way.
