1211 MIG 101 In-Person

This 1.5 hour hands on training for MIG welding will get you started on one of the stongest ways to join steel. MIG is one of the most common welding processes in all of manufacturing and production, not as complicated as TIG, but proficiency takes practice and repeat visits. Used for a variety of steel thicknesses and joints.

Training could require multiple sessions.

Registration is required. There are no seats available but a waiting list is available.

This equipment training may pose some safety risks. To participate you must have completed the online safety trainings through Canvas. 

Please request access to the online safety training by filling out the following form. You will recieve an invite to canvas shorty after. 

  1. Log in to Canvas and go to Room 1211 Training
  2. In the Modules section complete:
    • Shop Safety Fundamentals and Hazard Communication
    • Laboratory Safety: Compressed Cylinders
    • Review and complete the Room Governance Document and Sign-off 
    • MIG SOP quiz

 

Please do not wear synthetic clothing (polyester, spandex, etc) or mesh shoes. The preferred clothing would be leather/canvas boots/shoes and cotton jeans/pants.
